This has been the perfect sunny weather this weekend. As I mentioned, son, daughter, puppy and I went on our kinda first family hiking trip together on Saturday. The weather couldn’t have been better! The sun was shining, and after climbing 2,000 feet, the cool breeze felt so unexpected and wonderful. So, son, who usually directs these events, planned a 3.6 mile hike up the bald-rock summit of Buck Mountain overlooking Lake George. The day was clear so we could see the High Peaks of the Adirondacks. The boats in the Lake looked like tiny dots against the clear water. But, what a trek! I have to say, I am so happy that daughter and son are in great shape. I did pretty well too, but I definitely needed a little more time climbing that rocky path to the top. Unfavored knee was getting a workout for sure! Anyway, we made it to the top and here are some of the great views to share!
Now the way down was quicker and much easier (especially on the unfavored knee) and we enjoyed our time together! Puppy couldn’t wait to relax in the back of the car and we couldn’t wait to get a little refueling! We all stretched our muscles and probably were a little sore in places, but all in all, we would love to plan another hike next time son is home for any amount of time!
Of course with all that beautiful weather and son being home, my knitting did take a back seat for the weekend. I have worked hard on my Ridged Moebius Cowl, as you can see, it is getting wider and wider.
I hope to start the Foolproof scarf that I mentioned last week also. It’s kinda quiet now that son has headed back to his work site. Even puppy seems to be looking around for him! Funny how that works!
