Happy Friday and say good-bye to May and hello to June!
Time to start those summer knits!
First, think happy thoughts for my puppy who is suffering right now with what I believe is a muscle strain. He has had this once before after jumping off the couch and I have to tell you, this time it is a lot worse. He just looks at me with those big brown eyes that tell me he is a hurting puppy. 😦 I have gotten meds for him from the vets – just hope they give him relief soon! It’s so hard – I want him to be his old self again!
Though it’s hard to think about right now, I continue to work on my color-tipped scarf from Purlbee. I have added the third color with is called, Dusty Purple by Lion Brand Yarns.
Its been a little while since my last post so I have a few things to share with you. Like many of us, spring is a time for all kinds of activities, showers, wedding, and just getting out there to enjoy the (finally!) nice weather. That’s why, best guy and I took a sunday drive to one of the most beautiful parks around. It was a hot, sunny day at Saratoga Spa State Park and we just brought a blanket, lunch and sat and watched the people go by! It was very relaxing!
I also needed to show you part of my great Mother’s Day gift from daughter. Besides the day together with the whole family, she always comes up with the thoughtful gift, even when she has so much on her plate – I so appreciate it! Here is a picture of the roving wool that she got me to use in my felting projects. I can’t wait to felt something and I need to do it soon!
And, lastly, I have (crazy as it sounds) decided to work on some Christmas gifts because I never seem to leave enough time to complete them? I thought I would make a larger version of the Color Tipped Scarf from PurlBee. It is a fun and easy project and I know when the weather turns to – you know what – I will have a couple gifts done!
I guess we skipped spring and went right to summer! Today it’s going to be in the 80s. I don’t know about you, but I happen to like spring-the mild temperatures, the light breeze, finally getting out and enjoying the pleasant weather, looking at all the flowers and trees that are beginning to grow and bud. Not that I can do much about it-just saying!
I found this really cute Cap Sleeve Lattice Top on Purlbee – just right for this warm, warm weather. I like the style that can be worn with those cute skirts out there or just your favorite pair of jeans! Enjoy!
Growth is happening all around us!
I thought for this Friday Find, I would show off a finished project of mine. This is a blanket I made for a very special little package due in July! Can’t wait!!
I really didn’t have a pattern for this blanket. I used a garter stitch and single crocheted the edges with a worsted weight yarn called Linen by Lion Brand. The body of the blanket is in a slate blue/grey color from Berroco Weekend. I wanted this blanket to be washable and wearable. I love the simplicity of it. I know that I was inspired by Purlbee styling. They have beautiful patterns, yarn, and great ideas!
